Ibis Hotels, the Tourism Authority of Thailand, the Tourism Association of Koh Samui and the Thai Hotel Association of Koh Samui support the event, Adventure Race is set to attract teams from around the world.

Scheduled on October 2 and part of the Amazing Thailand Adventure Race Series, the race will start and finish on the beautiful Bophut beach.

“The ibis Koh Samui Trophy 2010” consists of 3 days of activities including:
• An expo for sponsors to promote their products/services
• Parties and VIP hospitality
• A spectacular Sprint Adventure Race
• A 5km fun run in the fishing village of Bophut
• Sports activities on the beach and in the Ibis hotel gardens
• Shows, dances and songs from local schools
• Trophy presentation
• Children corner and games

The ibis Koh Samui Trophy Adventure Race will offer 4 disciplines: Running, Cycling, Kayaking and Swimming.

The competitors will hike and run through unspoiled jungle, paddle and swim on the turquoise waters of the gulf of Thailand and cycle over the hills with Impressive views on the ocean.

“As we offer 2 divisions, Adventure (easier course) and Extreme (longer course), the race is really accessible to everyone!” concludes Henkens.

The winners of the extreme division are expected to complete the course in approximately 4:30.The fastest team in the Adventure division is planned to finish in around 3:30.

The Race offers 2 divisions:
- Adventure (Short course for newcomers and W.E. warriors)
- Extreme (Long course for confirmed athletes and experienced racers)
Disciplines: Running, Kayaking, Biking, Swimming and other mystery tests
Teams of 2 racers
Categories will be: Men, Women, Mixed, Masters Men (over 80 years combined) and Grand Masters Men (over 100 years combined)

The name “Koh Lipe” or “Koh Lee Pe” means paper Island in the local Chao Ley language.

Koh Lipe is a small island in the Southern part of the Andaman sea. It is located in Satun Province, close to Langkawi island (Malaysia).

There are 3 main beaches on Koh Lipe: Pattaya Beach, Sunset Beach and Sunrise Beach.

Koh Lee pe has some great snorkeling straight off the beach, but the best things can be seen on a snorkel trip to the surrounding islands. There are also some great dive sites and unlike other places in Thailand, diving around Koh lipe is still quite peaceful and relaxed.

Koh Lee pe has several beach bars where you can relax after swimming and enjoy a fruit shake or cocktail. For those who wander off the beaten track there are great rewards as some of the nicer bars are located of the main strip. Besides the restaurant from your resort there are plenty of other options. There are enough restaurants within a short walking distance, so explore. If you want you never have to eat in the same place twice.

KOH MAI THON

Koh Mai Thon has been the tourist destnation for a long time. It is a very beautiful island with white beaches and emerald colored sea. When the boat stops at the pire, many pretty fishes, all at once, come to greet the tourists which is the first impression right after their arrival.

Koh Mai Thon has its own distinctive feature which is different from other islands around Phuket as it is a private island, ready to welcome all Thai and foreign tourists.

Koh Mai Thon has a slope beach, so it is very safe for swimming and it has the very charming white sandy beach. You can find the sandune and 1 km coral reefs at the east. Another side of the island has many stones and waves.

Skindiving and scuba diving are also very preferable as well as kayaking, windserfing or sunbathing in the tranquil and private atmosphere. How to Get There

By Train
The most popular trip is to come by the Train no. 39 that leaves Hua Lamphong Railway Station and stops at Chumphon Station. Then, take a mini-bus to Tha Yang Pier and connect the boat of the Songserm. that leaves the pier at 7am and reaches Koh Tao about 10 am At Koh Tao, there will the be the boat of Nang Yuan Dive Resort to bring you to Koh Nang Yuan.
Another pier is Thung Makham Noi Pier where the resort will provide the speedboat for tourists taking about 1.30 hours or using the express boat of 150 persons taking about 3 hours to the destination.

By Air
By the Bangkok Airways leaving Bangkok in the morning. After arriving at Samui, then, connect the boat which leaves at 12.30 am to Koh Tao. From Samui, you can also visit Koh Tao by taking the boat at Phra Lan Pier (Mae Nam Pier) at 8 am or 12.30 am daily which takes about 1.45 hours. There will be the resort’s boat bringing you from Koh Tao to Koh Nang Yuan,everyday. From Koh Nang Yuan, the boat will service at 8.30 am, 10.30 am and 1.30 pm to Koh Nang Yuan. Suggestion: You should buy the package tour that covers the round trip (bus, train or plane) 46 If you drive your own car, you can park your car at the pier and pay for the guarding.

Chang Lang Beach: Chang Lang Beach in the evening, looking towards the sea, will see Khao Meng located at Pak Meng Beach lies in tranquility. This is the color of the wonderful Chang Lang Beach.

The gift of islands along the shore, each of which has differences of beauty and identity some with most beautiful beaches, some with an emerald cave in, some with sea cows and habitats of migratory birds, and some of the most beautiful diving spot. Each island is different beauty, the beauty of Chang Lang Beach is not completely blocked.
Pakmeng Beach is regarded as a center of travel in the Trang Sea. In high season, in the morning and evening, tour boat  actively transferring tourists on this pier. Pakmeng beach is not only interesting as a pier, the image of this beach that has two mountains have become the landmark of Trang. Furthermore, the beach line that stretches not far from Pakmeng Beach is one of the most beautiful in Thailand.

Another tourists attraction with the ancient drawing of the pre-historic people at Bae Na Mountain in front of the beach.

Chang Lang Canal, where the emerald fresh water flows into the dark blue sea. There is a small bridge across the canal and a few fisherman’s houses in front of the beach.

Attractions: From Pakmeng Beach, center of Trang Sea, along the beachfront road, those can admire the beautiful view of the Trang sea shade of the pines. Pakmeng Beach extends to Chang Lang Beach, if not called by the other name , is the same beach, with similar characteristics. Chang Lang Beach begins at Amari Trang Beach Resort and ends at the office of Had Chaomai National Park.The approach along the long beach of white clean sand and the bridge that crosses the canal Chang Lang is peaceful. Strange that fresh water in the canal that flows to the sea at this beach does not bring the soil sediment to destroy thewhiteness of it. The water is clear and clean, as if it were distilled through the mangroves, the color is emerald green, the flows to the blue sea , like a cross between two different waters is very beautiful. There is a small fishing village at the end of the canal, this area is another point of view, pleasant setting.

Skirting further on the beach, those will Had Chaomai National Park. The beach that stretches along the office is bright silver and walk slowly towards the sea. During low tide, the strips well done on the sand by the waves appear, shaded by pine trees, a walk can be taken from here onto Khao Baena.

Is said that just taking a camp under the pines in Had Chaomai National Park, those can experience the nature that is worth it. At Khao Baena, there is some remaining of pre-historic wall paintings. At the foot of the hill is the source of sea grasses, the main food for the sea cows . The beach at Khao Baena has a nice view point of view impressive sunset.

Chang Lang Beach: Though rested near Pak Meng Beach, the natural feature of the beach is different. The sand here is very clean and white of crystal clear water and shallow sea. Besides swimming, tourists can visit other islands not far from shore such as Koh Muk (Morakut Cave),  Koh Chuak, Koh Waen, Koh Ma, Koh Kradan and Koh Ngai.
